Hi my name is “Liza Ranelli” - This book has some of my family’s favourite recipes that my husband and my girls have enjoyed over time.

I have written this recipe book for my two beautiful daughters “Eden & Crystal” so they have a keepsake of their favourite childhood meals that have also been passed down to me and have been part of my childhood memories. Over time, I hope they will add their favourite recipes to it and start a tradition that they can hand down to their families. I was given this inspiration by my daughter Crystal, who was always asking for my recipes. When my daughter Eden was getting married, I thought what a lovely idea to pass down to her as a gift from her Mumma, so I decided to start, – but unfortunately, I never got around to finishing in time.

I found writing out the recipes quite difficult because I never follow recipes and I never make the same thing exactly the same!!! When I cook I just put things together as I go with what I have, even with recipes passed down to me by my parents I still would change and put my twist on depending on what I have in cupboard or if I wanted it to be vegan, vegetarian etc.

However, when others kept asking me for my recipes, including one of Crystal's close friends who was getting married and only wanted my recipes as her wedding gift, I thought it was time to pull my finger out and finish what I had started....

I have always loved cooking and have been told since I was a young girl that I am a messy cook !!! That I now  have never grown out off Just ask my girls !!! I call this is my Trademark

In recent times, cooking has been my saviour, as it has been my form of mindfulness and meditation. When I cook, I'm in the NOW, and I enjoy being in the present moment.

The recipes in this book have either been passed down to me from my mum's Maltese heritage or my dad's Italian Heritage, or ones I have put together to create my own traditions for my girls to pass down. Each recipe has a Flag on Top, either Maltese, Italian, or Australian. This flag resembles if the recipe is my Mumma’s, my dad’s, or Mine!!!

I have given gluten-free (GF) options for most of these recipes, as well as Vegetarian and Vegan ones. I have also adapted some of my parents' traditional recipes to make them GF or healthier options.
